Brush Twice Daily
Brush your teeth for at least two minutes, twice a day, using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Be sure to brush all surfaces of your teeth and along the gum line.
Don't Skip Flossing
Flossing once a day removes plaque and food particles from between your teeth where your toothbrush can't reach. This helps prevent cavities and gum disease.
Watch Your Diet
Limit sugary and acidic foods and beverages, which can erode tooth enamel and contribute to cavities. Instead, choose water, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and vegetables that naturally clean your teeth.
Replace Your Toothbrush
Replace your toothbrush every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles become frayed. A worn toothbrush won't clean your teeth effectively.
